The Poker Flat B Sides by Various Artists
- pfrdd17
We continue our enlightening foray into some of Poker Flat's best back catalogue with Chapter Three. Some of the most interesting B Sides have been re-discovered here, spanning 25 tracks and over 20 artists!
The warm acidic pump of Detroit Grand Pubahs' 'Nurse Hurse Jack Move' acts as the perfect starting point, before huge cuts from John Tejada, Guido Schneider and Jens Bond (in a smooth Jeff Samuel Remix), and of course Martin Landsky's 'FM Safari'. Landsky's deeper moments are also represented by 'I Can't Get Up' and the stunning Loco Dice remix of '1000 Miles'.
Trentemøller's phenomenal 'Chameleon' pushes the bass zones as far as possible while the textural 'Minimal Fox' and his vinyl edit of 'Vamp' is included later in the selection. The ever-loved Märtini Brös drop 'Joystick' - a classic reduced rave killer, and also included is the Chicago jack of 'WTUS' from the enigmatic pair.
Young blood Argy has three tracks included here, the pleasingly minimal 'Hide And Seek', 'Poke Her Flat' - a classic in its own right, and the freaky tones of 'The Waves'. 'Mistaken Identity' is the heavy bass bomb from Sammy Dee & Guido Schneider, which complements bigger housed moments from Sian and Dan Berkson & James What.
The collection is rounded off of course by some classic Steve Bug productions, including the mysterious 'i-Thought', the urgent grooves of his collab with Tanzmann - 'Shock', and his remix alongside Martin Landsky of Nick Holder's 'Erotic Illusions'.
